Watch last year's
INTRODUCTION TO NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY

online workshop .

Open to all, the Jour de la Nuit is a great opportunity to raise awareness about light pollution, the protection of nocturnal biodiversity and the beauty of the starry sky.  It has been held for many years in France and is now taking place in Quebec.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE :

To take part in this third edition in Quebec, turn off your outdoor lightingat home on Saturday October 10, 2026, and step outside to enjoy the beauty of the night!

The Jour de la Nuit is also an opportunity to organize activities around the theme of the night on Saturday October 10, 2026 : artistic evenings dedicated to the night, nature and astronomy outings, photo exhibitions, readings tales by the fire... Past years are full of good ideas.

All events will be listed on the
jourdelanuit.fr

Together, let's celebrate the dark night and the starry sky!

HOW TO :

TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS

TURN OFF YOUR RESIDENTIAL LIGHTING ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 10, 2026 to give way to the beauty of the night. Register to show your support.

Do you own a business or work within an organization? Take part in the movement and only keep essential lights on .

AND FOR SOMETHING SUSTAINABLE...

Take advantage of the experience to do a little
analysis of your lighting. Perhaps you will identify a few fixtures that are useless or could be improved!

  • Change a luminaire whose light source is visible for a model which only shines downwards

  • Replace white sources with less powerful bulbs of a warmer shade

  • Install a dimmer or timer to control your outdoor lighting

  • Install a motion detector on security lighting

  • Remove, deactivate or permanently turn off lighting fixtures that are not essential

ORGANIZE A PUBLIC EVENT
